Info

Dave Smith Instruments Tempest

The Dave Smith Instruments Tempest is an analogue drum machine, which was developed in cooperation with Roger Linn. It is equipped with two analogue and two digital oscillators per voice. These digital oscillators of the Dave Smith Instruments Tempest offer a comprehensive sound library, whose sounds can be creatively shaped by the analogue modulation including oscillators, filters, envelopes and effects. In order to add more expression to the beats live on stage two touch-sensitive ribbon controls are integrated in the Dave Smith Instruments Tempest. For the programming of the beats the Dave Smith Instruments Tempest provides 16 velocity and pressure sensitive pads, which are illuminated as well. So the Dave Smith Instruments Tempest is the ideal drum computer for live performance, which also can be used as a six voice synthesizer, due to its analogue sound synthesis.
