Shure SM86

 

The Shure SM86 is a unidirectional (cardioid) condenser microphone for vocals and voice. For professional use in live performance the Shure SM86 microphone is extremely rugged to resist the rigours of touring. At the same time the Shure SM86 delivers studio-quality sound and accordingly is ideal for homerecording as well. The customized frequency response of the Shure SM86 reproduces vocals and voice with clarity. The cardioid pickup pattern of the Shure SM86 isolates the main sound source while minimizing unwanted background noise. Also the Shure SM86 features a built-in three-point shock mount and a two-stage pop filter reducing handling noise as well as wind and breath noise. Because of its polar pattern and its feedback-insensitivity the Shure SM86 is an excellent selection for use with both stage monitors and personal in-ear monitors.
