It offes the full range of  distortion from the pure clean signal through the warm distortion of blues and hard crunch-sounds to Leadsounds rich in overtones. When the TC Electronic Dark Matter Drive switched on you can start to chose the sound simply by turning the volume control of your guitar. But it has level and drive controls as well, in order to perfectly control the distortion. Additionally the TC Electronic Dark Matter Drive features a voicing switch for the adjustment of the bass response. The TC Electronic Dark Matter Drive does not sound "muddy", it adds only the desired distortion and preserves the unique sound of the guitar.
