Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V

 

The Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V is the reincarnation of the legendary PPG Wave synthesizer, one of the most popular high-end-synthesizers of the 1980s, as a virtual instrument. In cooperation with the developer of the original Wolfgang Palm the Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V was recreated including all its unique sounds, which have a fat basic sound and a certain, analogue "imperfection". This sound is known from numerous hits. The synthesizer which inspired a generation of musicians and music lovers, is now available as a plug-in. Depending on the host computer the Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V is able to produce 256 voices per instance. Also, it provides 2 wavetable oscillators per voice including sample playback, which is operable easily by drag&drop. Because of the 8x-multimode the Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V allows to enhance multi-samples with its unique analogue sound. For sound design the synthesis is chained with a 12 dB / 24 dB low-pass filter and an overdrive. Furthermore, a LFO and three envelopes are included, plus several effects, such as 4-Band EQ, different overdrive types, phaser, chorus, flanger, stereo delay and reverb. So the Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V is an extremely comprehensive virtual analogue software synthesizer, which is operable intuitively and equally suitable for studio and stage performance.
